Chapter History

The Alumni Brothers of Thundering Tau Zeta Chapter are celebrating our 47th year anniversary. Our beloved chapter was charted on Tuesday, November 6, 1973 and since that date thirty (30) pledge lines were initiated into Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Tau Zeta Chapter for a grand total of one hundred and fifty-eight (158) young men.

While Tau Zeta celebrates 47 years of existence in Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated history, we remember our beloved Founders, the three undergraduates Bishop Edgar Amos Love, Dr. Oscar James Cooper, Professor Frank Coleman and their faculty adviser, Dr. Ernest Everett Just and displayed our cardinal principles of Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance and Uplift at Rutgers University and in the Greater New Brunswick area. Our very presence through our mandated social programs, has made a difference in the community and we continue that tradition with our contributions and leadership with the ever-growing Annual Rutgers Homecoming Tailgate on the Livingston campus.
